I cannot scan the QR code: Especially with short links, it can be, that the image covers too much of the QR code data area. In this case do either of these two things:
1. Set the error correction to H (30%). This will create a larger data area, that can handle more cover.
2. Make the QR code bigger (size > 300px) or the image smaller (scale -10). Both options lead to a "smaller" image within the QR code.
Repeat this, until you can reliably scan the QR code.
